Coldplay's famously secretive frontman Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow managed to marry in private, dodging the glare of the spotlight and any unwanted Paparazzi attention.

The hush-hush wedding took place just days after Paltrow, 31, and Martin, 26, had announced that they were expecting their first child.

The wedding ceremony was held in the fabulous Willow Suite of one of the world's most romantic resorts.

San Ysidro Ranch, nestled in the Montecito foothills of Southern California's wine country is the luxury hotel where Sir Laurence Olivier and Vivien Leigh married and where other celebrity couples including JFK and Jackie Kennedy and Julia Roberts and Danny Moder honeymooned.

A Very Private Wedding

No guests attended the Martin / Paltrow ceremony ... even Blythe Danner, Gwyneth Paltrow's mother, failed to get an invittion ... despite their famed mother / daughter closeness.

The Honeymoon

After the wedding, Paltrow and Martin stayed on in a honeymoon cottage at the San Ysidro Ranch.

They kept shades drawn for total privacy, before taking a private jet to Las Ventanas al Paraiso (pictured) in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

They then cruised around in an open-air jeep, took romantic strolls through the desert and relaxed in the hotel pool.
