I was pregnant when I got married and this was more 20 years ago. I was a regular church goer and got married in my church. When I look back at those pictures, I see my friends and family and my baptist pastor around me supporting and celebrating with me, even though it was 20 years ago when it was a bit tougher to do that.
All the people who loved me did not judge me ... and anyone who did judge me (and there were some) ... well their opinion just wasn't important. Once I learned to count my blessings and to stop beating myself up I had a wonderful day. I was a beautiful bride, with a loving husband and I had a beautiful daughter all those years ago ... I wouldn't change a thing.
I'd like to think I was a role model for others when I proudly walked down the aisle with my little daughter, who is such a blessing today, in my tummy sharing my day!
My message to today's maternity brides is simply "celebrate your wedding and the awesome new life you are bringing into the world ... and never look back."
