My wedding maternity wear horror!

Because I was 5 1/2 months pregnant, and only 20 years old when I got married I made the mistake of letting my mother choose a really ugly dress off-the-rack for me. I guess I was feeling so guilty about being pregnant and so young, I let her get away with it!

And my dress? Yes, it was a total horror! An ivory tea-length ensemble in polyester with no style or class at all - there was no way I was going to be allowed a white dress like I wanted! I hated it! Mine was the only wedding I'd ever been to where everyone in the bridal party looked better than the bride...

If I was pregnant and getting married again I'd have something completely elegant and regal-looking in pale, filmy silk chiffon, over a silk sheath, gathered under my breasts with silk ribbons, more silk ribbons and spring flowers in my hair...

I suppose it's no surprise that my wedding photos are hidden away never to see the light of day again!
