Three at the altar ... our maternity wedding story!

Our maternity wedding story is very special to us, so I thought I'd share ... and hopefully inspire other pregnant brides-to-be.

Lee and I seem to have been together for ever and although we had always planned to get married "some time", our plans had to speed up a bit (OK a lot!) when we discovered that I was expecting our little bundle of joy last year!

The best part of our maternity wedding story is that both of our families were thrilled about my pregnancy and very supportive. What with pregnancy hormones and wedding planning stress, I don't know how well I would have coped if they hadn't been "on board"!

First off, we sat down and made our plan, fixing our date for Friday 1st August, as I would be into my 2nd trimester and hopefully well but not too big by then! That only left us 8 weeks to get everything done, which was a bit daunting ... especially as I had suffered from dreadful morning sickness until week 13 and was only just starting to feel human again!

Once we booked our ceremony and reception everything else just fitted in. I was determined to wear something really pretty, that felt like a 'proper' wedding dress but didn't want anything 'churchy' so I chose the lovely cream Sparkle maternity dress you introduced me to. I got masses of compliments ... the hotel manager said it was the most elegant maternity dress he had ever seen (and he claims to see lots).

I wouldn't change a thing about our wonderful big day and looking back I'm really glad we didn't wait to get married until after Daniel was born. Nothing could have made our day more special and most days now I'm so tired from sleepless nights, I don't think I'd be fit for a wedding!!
