The Pregnant Bride Wore White
by Susan Crosby
In some ways The Pregnant Bride Wore White is a fairly traditional story ... but I enjoyed the clever twists in the plot that kept me turning the pages.
Private nurse Keri Overton wound up pregnant from a one-night stand, but the circumstances were exceptional, as she had been kidnapped. Believing she was going to die, she sought comfort with her fellow kidnap victim Jake McCoy who is part of a big tight-knit family in Chance City.
The only child of nomadic parents, Keri is entranced, as she has never really had a home. Even her job has moved her from place to place.
Traumatised by the kidnapping, it takes Keri several months to realise that she is pregnant, and once she does, she decides to track Jake down to his hometown.
His family is delighted to find out that she is expecting his child and assumes they have a solid relationship. Jake's work has taken him away from home for a prolonged period and Keri can't bear to tell his family the truth. Then Jake shows up on the day of the baby shower ...
This story is a real page-turner with plenty of depth and well drawn, credible characters. The Pregnant Bride Wore White is a thoroughly good read. You will enjoy it!
